I GOT N4000 TO CHOP OFF WOMAN'S HEAD, HANDS

‘I got N4000 to chop off woman’s head, hand’

A man, Taofik Adara, arrested in Badagry on Sunday with female body parts, yesterday said he was paid N4000 by a herbalist to kill the woman. Adara, alias Kie-Kie, was paraded at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja. He said he chopped off the woman’s head with a cutlass, while two alfas (Islamic clerics) and a herbalist held her hands. The victim, he added, had been hypnotised by a native doctor before he killed her. Adara, 61, said the cutlass used was given to him by the herbalist who hired him.

He said the woman, whose identity was still unknown, was brought to him from Sango Ota, Ogun State by the two alfas who needed fresh human parts to prepare a concoction for their client. Adara said: “I live at Itoga-Zeba area of Badagry. I am a woodcutter by profession and at times I assist owners of coconut plantation to help pluck coconut.

“The whole drama started on Saturday evening when one of my herbalist friends known as Manase came to me to say that he was expecting two alfas from Sango Ota. He said they would be coming with a lady and that he would pay me N4000 to help butcher the woman. He told me that the two alfas needed some fresh human parts to prepare a concoction for one of their clients. “True to his words, the two alfas arrived at Itoga on Sunday evening. I noticed that before their arrival the two alfas had used some charms on the lady. She was just obeying their directives without asking any question. I asked her where she came from and she explained that she resided at Ota and that she had gone to seek spiritual help from one of the alfas. “Around 9am on Sunday we took the lady deep into the forest, close to a river. Manase asked her to kneel and she did. It was while she was still kneeling that I chopped off her head with a sharp cutlass given to me by Manase.” He likened killing the woman to butchering a ram. He said after severing the victim’s head from her body, Manase instructed him to hold on to the head, while he (herbalist) removed her heart and two hands.

“Manase told me that the two alfas needed the lady’s head, heart and two hands from the wrist. He then took away the remains of the victim to use on a later day. It was while he was cutting off other essential human parts that a policeman who resides in our area arrived. The police would have arrested four of us if he had not shouted. The three of them took to their heels when they heard the noise.” Adara said last Sunday’s incident was his second involvement in such act. He said he killed another person about a year ago, adding that the victim was also brought to him by his herbalist friend. According to him, Manase paid him N8000 for the first job. “The first victim was also a woman. Manase had agreed to pay me N3000 but those who came for the human parts gave me an additional N5000 making it N8000,” he added. The suspect, who has two wives and 15 children, begged for forgiveness, stressing that he would feel bad if any member of his family was so treated.
Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni said Adara was being detained at the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) at Panti, Yaba, Lagos Mainland.
He said all those involved in the Oct would be brought to book.

DINO MELAYE SHARES HIS NYSC PHOTO

Dino Melaye shares his NYSC photo

Senator Dino Melaye has made move to convince Nigerians that he attended and graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University by sharing a picture of himself during his National Youth Service Corps.

The Senator has been caught in a web of allegation that he did not graduate from the university as he failed his final year courses although the senator has insisted he duly graduated. He shared a picture of himself during his NYSC programme in Kaduna in 1999. Meanwhile, Harvard has responded to claim by Senator Melaye that he has a degree from the institution. Senator Ali Ndume had raised a point of order asking the Senate to probe the allegation that Melaye did not graduate from ABU has claimed.

In response, Melaye had lashed out at the Senator saying not only did he graduate from Abu but claimed he also has a degree from Harvard. He had said: “I and here to respond to the issue raised by the Boko Haram suspect (and) senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Ali Ndume. I want to say, to me, it is a welcome development. Democracy is about investigation and no senator is above investigation. To me, it is a welcome development and it will finally clear the air on all the malicious and vindictive allegations.

“To say that I did not graduate from ABU is to say that I am not a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. ABU is a very prestigious university in this country and it is not possible for one to be running a master’s programme in the university when one did not graduate from a university. I have successfully completed one and I am doing the second one. “I want to announce that this is the eighth degree that I am pursuing. I am also a graduate of University of Abuja, where I did Masters in Policy Analysis. I am a graduate of London School of Economics and Political Science. I am also a graduate of Harvard University. The course I am pursuing now will make it my eighth degree.”

He also introduced himself as an authentic graduate of the school when he spoke at the Senate as a way of convincing Nigerians of his true academic status.

NASS ON FIRE!!! Tension As Saraki, Others, Gang Up, Endorse Ndume’s Indefinite Suspension, Protect Melaye From More Disgrace

NASS ON FIRE!!! Tension As Saraki, Others, Gang Up, Endorse Ndume’s Indefinite Suspension, Protect Melaye From More Disgrace
Barring any last minute change of mind, the immediate-past Senate Leader, Senator Ali Ndume, will be suspended by the Senate, over what the Lawmakers have described as ‘unparliamentary’ utterances, made by the Borno-born Lawmaker. It was gathered, that plans have been concluded and are at an advanced stage in the camp of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on how to move against Ndume. It was also learnt, that another Senator seen to be neutral, has been approached to move a motion on the floor of the Senate to that effect.

Already, Senators loyal to Saraki, are already reaching out to their colleagues who are yet to join the train. Senator Dino Melaye, who heads the FCT Committee, is believed to be leading the offensive.
Ndume incurred the wrath of Saraki and his loyalists, when he protested the rejection of the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, by the Senate.
Ndume had protested the approach adopted by the Senate President. He said Saraki erred, by accepting a new report not signed by the Director-General of Department of State Security Services, DSS, Lawal Daura.

Referring to a similar letter written to the Senate President, by an Assistant Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, on behalf of the Col. Hammed Ali, Ndume had queried why Saraki declined to read the letter, but accepted a similar one from the DSS. Ndume, after the second rejection of Magu, granted several press interviews, where he openly criticized Saraki and the entire Senate for rejecting Magu. Multiple sources familiar with the planned suspension of Ndume, told Daily Sun, that the move may happen any time soon. Unperturbed by his planned suspension, Ndume, yesterday, called for the investigation of Saraki and Melaye, over the face-off with the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hammed Ali (rtd.) and the certificate forgery allegation leveled against Melaye.

Senator Ndume, who came under a motion of national importance, said Saraki according to a story published by an online newspaper, sanctioned the summon of the NCS, over claims that his bullet proof Ranger Rover Sport was impounded. On the part of Melaye, Ndume said the an online platform, published a story that the Kogi State born Senator, did not obtain a degree in Geography from the Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria. Ndume drew instances from four scenarios. He said a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Salisu Buhari, was accused of certificate forgery, and how he eventually cleared his name. He said former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, was also accused when he held sway as the Senate boss. According to Ndume, Wabara also cleared his name. He added, that the current Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, as Speaker of the House of Representatives, was accused of certificate forgery, but went ahead and cleared his name.
His last reference was made to Dimeji Bankole, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives. He said he was accused of not writing his Senior Secondary School Examination. Again, Bankole said he cleared his name.

Ndume said: “This matter borders on our privileges. One has to do with the Senator, Bukola Saraki, the Senate President, and it was reported in a paper I have it here. The newspaper said the Senate is on vengeance, after Nigeria Customs seized Senator Saraki’s bullet proof Range Rover, over fake documents. “My colleagues that are following events, particularly online, have seen, or heard, or read the rein of abuses on this Senate, and the misconception of the fact that we invited the Customs boss, based on a very unpopular policy that affects the people we represent, but now we are faced with this.
“During the 4th Assembly, Salisu Buhari was accused of certificate forgery. He was investigated and determined after that. In the 5th Assembly, Bello Masari was accused of certificate forgery (secondary school). He was investigated and was cleared.

“In the 6th Senate, Dimeji Bankole was accused of not having NYSC certificate, it was investigated, and he showed his NYSC certificate. “Now, that brings me to the second matter in the National Assembly. In the 4th Assembly, Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, was accused of collecting a bribe, and it was investigated and determined. So, a lot of precedence have been set. “Now, the second matter of privileges affects my colleague, Dino Melaye, and it is in the paper today.‎ Therefore accordingly, I will appeal we refer the matter to Ethics and Privileges to investigate, so that our colleagues would be cleared, and this Senate will stand as it supposed to.” Sen. Melaye, who was in the Chamber when Ndume raised the twin issues, did not react or counter the statement.

With the nod of the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, who presided over the day’s Legislative business, Ndume submitted some newspaper publications, after which the matter was referred to the Senator Samuel Anyanwu-led Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, for further investigation.

Justice Nyako bars journalists from using phones to cover Nnamdi Kanu's case

Nnamdi Kanu
A Federal High Court judge, Binta Nyako has ordered that all journalists covering the case of the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu be barred from using their phones and cameras.

The order came on the heels of Kanu's appearance before the court on Monday, March 20 for hearing. An operative of the Department of State Security (DSS) dressed in plain clothes stood on the entrance of the courtroom alongside three heavily armed prisons officials.

The operative said the judge gave a fresh order that no journalist should be allowed into the court room with their phones. "Madam (the judge) gave the order, she said no journalists should be allowed inside with their phones their cameras," the DSS operative said.

It is however not clear if the DSS official was acting on his own or on the orders of Justice Nyako. At the last hearing on the matter, Nyako had ccused the security operatives of making a mole hill out of Nnamdi Kanu's matter.

The judge said the "overzealous operatives are making this matter special.", "There is absolutely nothing special about Nnamdi Kanu, there is absolutely nothing special about this case," Justice Nyako had said angrily.
