‘WE ARE NOT BEHIND IKPEAZU’ – SENATE

The 8th National Assembly Senate  has dismissed the claims of the embattled Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, who in the early hours of today had sent out a press release saying the Senate was backing his course to counter Justice in Abia State.

Contrary to the claims of the embattled Governor Ikpeazu, the Senate in a Statement issued to journalists in early hours of today had this to say regarding the press release by the embattled Governor’s crew;

“…We are not backing Ikpeazu and his quest for power. If some of our colleagues are supporting him they should specify on that instead of generalising it and dragging the name of the senate to the mud by bringing them into the on-going power tussle in Abia State. We have enough problems to solve at the moment and therefore do not wish to be involved in this national judicial war. Ikpeazu should do the right thing and allow the law to take it’s cause instead of trying to buy public sympathy by claiming everyone in the world is supporting his quest for power… We have the rule of law and everyone should respect it. The Senate is a responsible arm of Government and therefore should be addressed as such at all times. We will not condone anymore of this propaganda messages flying about in public regarding the senate’s involvement in such shady games…”

Ikpeazu and his crew have therefore been cautioned to stop propaganda messages in a bid to buy public sympathy and also to come to terms with reality. They’ve also been urged to allow the rule of law take it’s cause.
